The Dick Tracy Casebook: Favorite Adventures 1931-1990 was published in 1990 by St. Martin's Press. The book is a compilation of the Dick Tracy comic strip, edited by Max Allan Collins with introductions to each collected storyline by Dick Locher.
The book contains 7 complete storylines, with an afterword by Collins.
Storylines Included[]
- The Hotel Murders
- The Brow
- Crewy Lou
- Model Jones
- Spots
- Big Boy's Open Contract
- The Man of a Million Faces (First Appearance of Putty Puss)
Notes[]
- The storylines in this volume are complete and unedited. Therefore, "The Brow" storyline includes his assault on the Summer Sisters' wrists, and his grisly demise (which had not been included in The Celebrated Cases of Dick Tracy).
- The reproduction for the Spots story is unusually faint to the point that at times the story has a "washed out" appearance and the dialogue is often difficult to read.
- The format for this volume was duplicated the following year for Dick Tracy's Fiendish Foes.
