The Complete Dick Tracy Volume 18 contains the strips written and drawn by Chester Gould originally published in newspapers between the dates December 15th, 1957 and July 11th, 1959.
It includes the following storylines:
- Pantsy
- Miss Egghead, Wunbrow & The Granite Island
- Headache & Popsie
- The Slot Machine Ring & E. Kent Hardly
- Rhodent
The Rhodent storyline is continued in the subsequent volume.
The book also includes original supplemental material, including the essay "Visible and Invisble" by Jeff Kersten, the essay "A Storm of Biblical Proportions" by Richard Pietrzyk, the essay "It's a Long Story! Do You Want to Hear It?" by Max Allan Collins, and the fifth (fourth) entry in the Dick Tracy Family Album & Mug Shot Files series.

- Artist Dick Locher became an assistant to Chester Gould during the summer of 1958. Locher would later become the main artist (and eventually the writer) of the strip. This volume contains the first reproductions of Locher's work in the IDW Complete Dick Tracy series.
