Notes

  • The book is dedicated to the memory of author Jay Maeder, who is acknowledged as a "newspaperman, comics writer, historian, and author of the definitive and official Dick Tracy 'biography'."
  • The book's cover image is based on a drawing attributed to artist Al Avison for the cover of Harvey Comics' Dick Tracy Comics Monthly #129 from 1957. It is the first first volume in IDW'S Complete Dick Tracy series to feature cover art that is not attributed to Chester Gould.
