Greenback Eddy was a victim of the hired killer Pucker Puss. Sam Catchem and Dick Tracy referred to him as "The Con King".
Greenback Eddy was apparently connected to the criminal underworld, although the only time he came to the attention of the police was when his car was ticketed for illegal parking at baseball games.
Syndicate hit[]
The Syndicate put out a contract hit on Eddy which was taken up by Pucker Puss. The killing occurred during a baseball game. Eddy was shot with a .22 short bullet (March 29th, 1976).
Dick Tracy Investigates[]
Dick Tracy's investigation of Eddy's death revealed connections to three other inter-related cases - the case of Lispy, the unsolved killings of a dentist, and the killing of an underworld gunsmith which resulted in the death of Pucker Puss in a gunfight with Dick Tracy.
