Clybourne was one of several crows that were trained by Haf-and-Haf and his associates to steal purses. Clybourne was said to be the most effective one of these birds. Clybourne led Dick Tracy and the police to investigate Haf-and-Haf. He later joined the Police Department Menagerie, as did his mate.

Many years later, Haf-and-Haf met and recruited a homeless man named Clybourne, whom he regarded fondly due to his positive association with the name.

It was later revealed tht Haf-and-Haf believed that the original Clybourne was alive and living the city zoo's aviary. Haf-and-Haf was caught before this could be confirmed.

Notes[]

  • Clybourne first appeared in a different comic strip that Chester Gould wrote and drew called The Gravies. In that strip, Clybourne could talk and often wore a cap and scarf.
