In 1949, Dell Comics published six full-length original stories produced specifically for the comic book. These stories appeared in issues #19-24 before the publication rights changed to Harvey Comics.
It is not clear if these original stories are in continuity with the daily comic strip. The original characters created for these stories have not appeared (or been referred to) in the Dick Tracy comic strip.
