Amy Lovelaw worked for the Datasys phone company in Dick Tracy's city. She was a single, attractive woman with light hair.

Lovelaw assisted Tracy and the police in their attempts to trace a computer virus that was affecting the city. Lovelaw was approached by the stock broker Alec Smart, who wanted to use the virus for his own ends. Smart attempted to charm Lovelaw, hoping that she would tell him the source of the virus when she discovered it.

Lovelaw refused Smart's physical advances, and he later abducted her. She was rescued when Smart and his associates were arrested. She was especially grateful to Dick Tracy and to Officer Danny Shield.
